We still talk about that night all sleeping under the stars during a moonless night on a ground sheet, and the stars so bright you could see at night as if it was full moon light. But it was just light from stars (and the Great Cosmic Echidna).
One of the best times of my whole life, thanks you both and the Great Cosmic Echidna. Those stars. The milky way. And Sam whispering to wake me as dawn was breaking: “Mommy, there’s a roo watching us.”
I love that it looks both backwards and forwards, which is perfect for a New Year's tradition. My BTO&G would look like this for this year:
B: I worked up the courage to quit my job and start a new phase of my life.
T: I toast my husband who has gone along with this and has confidence in me, as he always does no matter how crazy what I do seems to be.
O: This is the same as it usually is (although I took a few years off): Kick @ss in the new year. Definitely not a SMART goal and the specifics change by the day.
G: I am going to spend time learning more about other people in my life, how they feel and what they think.
Mine is to create a few two or three-word guideposts for the new year. Here are mine for 2024
- Think First (I have a 'helper' gene and often get overloaded by love of "yes")
- Stay Committed (so many ways this works for 2024; personal, political, family)
- My favorite, Harvest Joy (it's all around me, I want to notice and marinate)
