Durham Pride
Ooh I have drafts and notes in my folders - it’s all still a mish-mash that I need to think through so for now, please feast your eyes on some photos from the Durham Pride Parade.
I’m still having constant Covid headaches but my young-adult child super-wanted me to go, so I went, and he held the banner with me for a few minutes before ditching me, as young adults are wont to do, to march with Durham DSA and chat it up with our favorite City Council member instead. I cannot begrudge him for these actions.
Me and the young adult. My sign says “Liberation is a GLOBAL family affair. (The 17 was our place in line and went to the parade marshals when we started.)
Honored to carry the banner and thrilled to see that the Mothers* (whatever that means to you, fully inclusive) for Ceasefire/ SONG/ Durham Ceasefire Chorus contingent was the biggest crowd this year. I’m hoarse from signing and chanting. Days like these make me so grateful to live in a community who understand, who get it: all our liberations are intertwined.
Here’s to our intertwined liberations.
